The greatest dancers will attest that Ballet is one of the most gruelling and difficult of arts to master. The top professionals spend years training and learning in order to be able to perform at the highest level. Regardless of the level of ballet being performed, ballet shoes are an essential part of a dancer’s kit. All ballet dancers require the specially designed shoes, to allow them to perform to their capabilities. Ballet shoes are designed to fit the foot closely and comfortably, to allow the dancers to glide across the stage with finesse. There are various different types of shoe available, which are designed for specific actions. For example, Pointe shoes have toe pads inserted to the tip to allow dancers to stand on their toes, or ‘Pointe’ with more ease and grace. The pads make the tip of the foot square, making the toes into a stable block to be balanced on.

As dancers train, they wear out and damage their ballet shoes. The shoes are required to be lacy delicate to the eye but robust to the foot. They need to be sturdy enough to hold the weight of a dancer for prolonged periods of time. Therefore, a dancer will require a large amount of ballet shoes during their career. Many will carry several pairs, to avert any crisis which may arise after potential damage or breakages at an inopportune moment. Buying a large quantity of shoes can become expensive and it is always preferable to find cheaper sources of products.

On-line shopping is a fantastic way of finding great deals on all sorts of ballet shoes and other ballet related items. The internet has opened up the retail market, forcing items to be more competitively priced in store and increasing the chances of obtaining a rare or in demand item. Auction sites like eBay carry a wealth of items which are surplus to requirements to the current owner and looking for a new home. Real bargains can be picked up and a fortune can be saved. Searching for items on ebay is also a good way of getting price comparisons. It is helpful to see how much ballet shoes are being sold for online and then compare that price to the prices in store.

Generally speaking, internet prices will be cheaper than in store prices and even adding on the cost of postage and packing will not push the cost up too high. However, the danger of shopping for ballet shoes on the internet is ensuring you get ones that fit. If you’re a seasoned ballet dancer, chances are you have already selected your preferred make and know what size feet you are. You can buy shoes online without worrying about them being the wrong ones because the order will be exactly the same as the usual pair you buy. If you are looking for you first set of ballet shoes, then head to a shop, try on a few sizes and pick a style you like, then when you get home, order them from the internet and get them for a cheaper price. Buying ballet shoes couldn’t be easier.

It is amazing how seeing, hearing or smelling something can suddenly evoke long-lost forgotten memories. This happened to a friend of mine recently when she was on a weekend break in Budapest, Hungary. While wandering down one of the city’s many shopping streets, her eyes were suddenly drawn to a pair of ballet shoes sitting in one of the shop windows. Upon seeing the ballet shoes she was transported in an instant to another time and another place entirely.

The story begins in war torn Germany, where her mother was born. She was a Jew living in Berlin and was still only 15 years old when she was taken to a concentration camp along with her mother and father. As they were taken from their home, my friend’s mother grabbed a pair of ballet shoes that she had been given by her parents for her birthday just a few days before. When they reached the concentration camp she was separated from her mum and dad, so for the next few years she kept those ballet shoes with her at all times as a constant reminder of her missing parents.

The fact that she managed to keep the ballet shoes hidden from her captors became a source of great hope for her, instilling a deep belief that she would see her parents again one day. Sure enough, when the war was over, they were reunited and eventually resettled in England, where she kept those ballet shoes as a constant reminder of what hope and belief can achieve in times of great despair.

My friend had never known about her mother’s ballet shoes until she passed away. It was only while going through her mother’s belongings after her death that she found the ballet shoes along with a diary, which told the story of how they had helped her survive the Holocaust. My friend vowed to keep them safe forever and pass them on to her own children, to keep the story of her mother’s life alive. Tragically, just a few months later there was a terrible fire at my friend’s house. Almost everything was destroyed, including the ballet shoes and the diary. Of course, the insurance covered most of the damage, but there was no amount of money that could ever replace those ballet shoes.

Understandably, whenever my friend sees a pair of ballet shoes now she gets quite upset, but on this occasion in Budapest there was something different. The ballet shoes in the shop window were really old and almost identical to her mother’s. The moment she saw them she knew she had to buy them. When she went into the shop and started asking questions about them, it turned out they had belonged to an old German ballet dancer who was famous for having survived the Holocaust. The ballet shoes were very expensive but it did not matter, as soon as my friend bought them she knew had reclaimed just a little bit of her mother’s life.

Paris is recognized as one of the most romantic cities in the world and yet it is appreciated for the cultural sophistication as well. It is a great city to visit if you truly love the arts.

Many people believe the ballet and opera actually began in Paris. If you enjoy ballet and opera than a visit to Paris without attending the opera or ballet is regrettable.

Ballet is a formalized form of dance with its origins in the Italian Renaissance court of the 15th century. One can consider that the real beginning of the Paris Opera Ballet occured in 1661. Ballet developed further in the French court from the time of Louis XIV in the 17th century hence the term ballet which is from the French vocabulary.

Ballet de La Opera National de Paris is rated one of the best dance companies in the world; it outdoes itself in both the classics and avant-garde, staged in the same aspect of Opera.

It is universally agreed that the ballet in Paris is truly one of a kind. The performers are recognized worldwide.

The Opera is a spectacular theatrical concert featuring singers who spend several hours practicing and performing. Many in the audience leave in awe wondering how these opera singers can sing the way that they do. Their costumes and the way they perform almost take you into another place or time.

In 1989, the Bicentennial of the French Revolution was marked by the inauguration of the Opera Bastille, a 2700-seat auditorium acoustics and stage vision of its are unrivaled so to get a seat you need to reserve months in advance.

The productions are both popular and critically acclaimed. The site’s multi-functional performance space also hosts various concert and dance programs. Place de la Bastille, 75012 Paris. The metro is Bastille.

The sumptuous and prestigious Paris Opera building, designed by Charles Garnier in 1861 and completed in 1875, is one of the largest theatre venues in the world The Opera Garnier stage is 118,404 square feet, accomodate 450 players. The tale for the classic horror movie, The Phantom of the Opera, was in the Opera Garnier.

For an entry fee, you can stroll around the interior at your leisure (except occasionally during rehearsals). Since the opening of the Opera Bastille, the Opera Garnier has devoted its repertoire exclusively to ballet.

Though its productions are internationally renowned for their quality, they tend to remain on the traditional side of contemporary dance. The Ballet de L’Opera de Paris and the Opera National de Paris schedule some performances here and some at the Opera de la Bastille.

In both venues, reduced ticket prices may be available at the box office 15 minutes before performance time for students and people under 25 or over 65. Place de l’Opera, 75009 Paris. The metro is Opera and Auber.

Theatre Musical de Paris (Theatre du Chatelet) lies between the Pont au Change (which crosses to the Ile de la Cite and the boulevard de Sebastapol. These theatres were built by Davioud in 1862, and each now leads a separate and even rival existence.

The Chatelet concentrates mainly on opera and classical music, with occasional ballet, and usually has a rich program of international performers. (It recently acquired an annex in Les Halles, the Auditorium, where more unusual or obscure music is performed.)

The other theatre, previously named the Sarah Bernhardt and now known as the Theatre de la Ville, offers top names in contemporary dance, innovative French theatre, and evening concerts of jazz or world music.

Before the Bastille Opera opened, and with the Garnier’s transition to an all-dance programme, the TMP was the only Parisian venue offering a complete programme of high-quality opera. Despite the arrival of such a massive rival, the TMP has continued its ambitious schedule of progressive, well-made productions. Address: 1, place du Chatelet, 75001 Paris; phone: 01-40-28-28-98; fax: 01-42-36-89-75; The metro is Chatelet.

Some countries offer scholarships to Paris for those they feel are good enough in the art of ballet or opera, With every talented ballet student or opera singer that comes out of Paris, more of the world has the opportunity to enjoy a piece of Paris.

So, after seeing the sites during the day, and you like the ballet or the opera they usually perform at night and this would be a great thing to do to end a great day.

The dance of the ballet is a dance is beautiful movements and graceful flowing moves that beautifies the body. Ballet is a dance that you cannot learn in a couple of months, it is a graceful and beautiful dance with incredible moves, ballet takes years to learn and many hours of practice. After ballet dancers graduate from dance schools, the dancers will audition for dance companies with the hope of performing on stage..

When looking at dance it is very structured in its movements, dance is performed to a musical score and this enhances the rhythm of the dance which enables you see the flowing physical movements that is translated into happiness and the joy that makes dance.

When dancing the ballet there are many unnatural moves but the great dancers make the unnatural moves look very flowing and natural. In France King Louis XIV founded the Royal Academy of Dancing in 1661 to train dancers so they would perform in his court.

There are no specific brands of shoes that schools require but many encourage that girls wear pink and boys wear black or white for ballet. Wear the proper clothes when dancing the ballet. When choosing a shoe you could pick leather that is imitation but they will wear out quickly it is best to purchase real leather shoes. Be careful not to stick to the floor, if you stick to the floor your ballet shoes will wear out faster than normal, ballet shoes are meant to slide and if they stick you could injure yourself. Ballet shoes wear out very quickly; because of this fact many dancers purchase many pairs because they go thru at least a dozen or more shoes each year. The sole, strong yet flexible, helps younger dancers build strong feet. Ballet shoes are designed in specific way to help movement; ballet shoes structure helps dancers perform beautifully and the design of the shoes makes it so the when the ballet dancer dances it does not hurt their feet.

You need support for your feet while allowing access to all your bones and muscles of your feet. The area covering the toes and top of the foot is the vamp, while the opening nearest the toes is the shoe’s throat. The rear portion of the shoe that encases the heel and sides of the foot is known as the quarter. A dancer’s experience, shape of the foot and strength should be considered in finding the best shoe. How the bottom of the foot contacts the floor is very important. When buying shoes you should try them on first and take a couple of steps to make sure the fit and are comfortable to wear.

Tights come in a variety of colors, with the most popular being pink and black. Ballet tights are a standard part of the dress code at ballet schools and in performances. Ballet tights are tight-fitting leg coverings worn ballet performers.

When becoming a dancer most people do it for the dance and not the money, the ballet pay is not usually very high, but there are few dancers that practice and shine that do receive a substantial income.
