I understand that you have to dance on the tips of your toes, so don’t put that. I started ballet a few weeks ago and want to know what the difference is because our teacher always says “if you were doing pointe you would…” I also was curious if you used differnet music for pointe that you don’t for ballet and if males can do pointe because I’ve never seen a man with pointe shoes on. And please no smart-alic answers.
My friend is starting ballet. She is a beginner and she’s 14. I don’t really remember what i did to get ready for ballet. She wants to know the kind of things that you need. [not clothing] Like if you need to be flexible in certain ways. We are not going to a school for ballet just a summer class.
Anaheim Ballet: More Than Dance… A couple different ways to tie your pointe shoes as well as some tips and tricks.
I am thirteen years old and have never danced/done ballet, but I have alright flexability. I am starting ballet lessons in a little while, but what stretches can I do before I start, so I can catch up with some of the other girls? Is it too late to start competing in dancing? I would be dedicated to practising, but am I too old now?
Also I have nearly done the splits, but I am about 15cm from the floor. I just can’t seem to get all the way! What stretches would be good so I can get the whole way down?
