Its never to late!!! On the academy that I attend there is a girl that is 16 and has just started her ballet lessons!!! Its hard at the beginning but its totally worth it on the future!!
Why were you told not to do it??
i love ballet but was told at a young age not to do it…now im having my first child and honestly do it when you still have your body-lol.

When I’ve began, I was 12! and I Became a dancer as Good as the others. In a compagny then to be teacher.
That’s a very good school for your will and excellent for your body, for all your life..

Don’t worry about if you can or can’t start at age 13. I started at age 18 and am doing wonderfull at the moment, went from the very most basics to advanced in 2 years, the last year including pointe shoes. If you’re willing to work at it, you can most definitly make it farther than you think.
Go for it, girl!! Let that passion for the dance arise and come out! I dance for King Jesus and love it-
Yes, she is better now. She come home from treatment last year and graduated from high school in January – 6 months early! She is working 2 jobs until the beginning of fall semester.

i have a the adult class because they though that was a great start for me soo…
(but thank god im not the only 1 there)

I am 12 and there is a sixteen year old in my class. She is doinng very well.
Emoin is doing great and plus if you fell uncomforrtable being in a class with younger kids you can take an adult class.
Of course! Start again! I did after 4 years off and while I’m not trying to be a professional dancer (still not back on pointe), I am probably going to minor in dance in college and still love it! And you’re younger than I am so you definitely have a chance!

lovely video. i lost interest in dance after my daughter – a promising dancer – began to suffer from an eating disorder. i can’t watch something like this without feeling conflicted. and a bit sad.
@tdsmeg4 dont let your friends say that i do ballet pointe ………….. its very fun to do ballet

hey! Don’t give up k? there was a point of time where i was like that, where my friends make fun of me joining ballet. but now as i look back, amybe they were just envious, jealous or just pure childish.
but i didn’t stop ballet and i am really glad that i didn’t. may you pirouette your way to distinction! 
continue loving ballet! what grade are you in now? 
Don’ t stop, never stop only because of what others say… I did it and now I regret it so much… If you love doing something, and you’ re good at it, go ahead and do it with all your heart.
I have friends who make fun of me bcuz i dance and one of them says ballet stinks on ice well i’d like to see them do half of this bcuz there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that they could do what these great dancers do, correctly at least and i always just tell them to go ahead and make fun of me but i’m doing something i love to do and i’m not stopping just because you don’t like it
